He thanked the DTC members for being present. He appointed former Mayor Alex Knopp as Parliamentarian for the meeting. He acknowledge the three new members who are in District B: Ronald Banks\, Daisy Franklin\, and Travis Simms. He outlined the procedure for voting\, as stated in the Agenda. \n1. The sole purpose of the meeting is to endorse candidates for Municipal Office. \n2. Nominations will be held in the following order:\nCouncil Members – in-district (10)\nTaxing District Commissioners (TBA)\nTaxing District Treasurers (TBA)\nCouncil Members – at-large (5)\nBoard Of Education (4)\nConstable (4) (7 of 8)\nSelectmen (2) (3 of 4)\nTown Clerk (1)\nCity Sheriff (1)\nCity Treasurer (1)\nMayor (1) \n3. Rules governing nominations and seconds: \na. Nominations: \nDistrict: The Chairs of each district will be recognized to report their district’s recommendation to the membership\, and there will be inquiries for any additional nominations. Only members of DTC of that district are eligible to nominate. \nThere may be an up to 1 min nominating speech\, no seconds are required\, and no seconding or acceptance speeches. A candidate may simply accept or decline the nomination. Hearing no further nominations\, we will proceed to a vote of eligible members. \nTaxing districts: Eligible DTC members from each given taxing district will be asked to nominate eligible candidates for Taxing Commissioners and Treasurers. \nThere may be an up to 1 min nominating speech\, no are seconds required\, and no seconding or acceptance speeches. A candidate may simply accept or decline the nomination. Hearing no further nominations\, we will proceed to a vote of eligible members. \nAt-large nominations: Any DTC member may nominate candidates for any at-large office. \nThere may be an up to 1 min nominating speech\, no are seconds required\, and no\nseconding or acceptance speeches. A candidate may simply accept or decline the nomination. Hearing no further nominations\, we will proceed to a vote of eligible members\, and we will proceed to a roll call vote. \nMayor: A speaker will be recognized to nominate a candidate for mayor. The Candidate for Mayor may make a nomination acceptance speech.
