As a resident of Norwalk for over twelve years Garrett Oliver has seen the challenges that the Board of Education continues to face. With over 33 years of experience in Operations, Product Strategies, Sales, Marketing, and Management, Garrett brings a pragmatic and focused approach to problem-solving. Garrett realizes that many socio- economic problems stem from inadequate educational governance, and he is committed to approaching the BOE’s challenges with intellectual integrity and professionalism. As a member of the 100 Black Men of Stamford, Garrett had the privilege to help and mentor students in the Stamford area, and he continues his efforts to give back to the community as a mentor for the Recording Academy. Garrett attended the University of Connecticut with a focus on Marketing and Political Science, subsequently attended New York University with a focus on Real Estate. “Finding balance with work, education, and family, is at the forefront of my development, and provides me with a uniquely impartial perspective to address the BOE’s challenges.”
